Our Vision & Mission
As an Irish owned company we have been adapting to the changing needs of school communities for the last 60 years. Our mission is to provide outstanding educational tools that have a positive impact on teaching and learning, by responding to our customers’ needs. Our vision is to make great learning easy.
We employ a team of nearly 65 people directly, to provide high quality educational content as well as learning platforms to house our digital products and interactive resources. We also work with many authors, editors and designers throughout the country to create great books and teaching materials. All the authors of our textbooks are experienced teachers, who understand the needs of fellow teachers and students.
We produce schoolbooks and digital products for primary and post-primary subjects, that match the blended learning needs of teachers and students. With every book comes a range of digital teaching materials such as eBooks, interactive resources, lesson plans, videos, student podcasts and much more. Together these books and resources form a complete programme to support teachers and students. We are also Ireland’s leading supplier of literacy materials. Our portfolio includes internationally renowned series PM Literacy, Engage Literacy and, Collins Big Cat.
Our Social Impact
We’re very proud to have been working in the education sector for over 60 years. Being a successful business allows us to give back to the community both in Ireland and aboard. We are delighted that we have been able to support lots of different charities and initiatives over the years through our Folens Giving Programme.
Diversity in our books
As a producer of educational content we are very aware of our responsibility to ensure that children see themselves reflected within the schoolbooks that are used in the classroom today. Some of our books are a number of years old and may be somewhat out of date with regards our modern society. However, we always strive to improve what we do and our latest programmes reflect the diverse society we live in today.

The service we provide to all our customers is very important to us, which is why we have developed a Customer Experience Charter. Our charter sets out the principles and goals for delivering the best experience we can.
Our Sustainability Plans
In 2022 we launched our Folens Goes Green initiative. This is our commitment to become carbon neutral by 2025 by reducing energy, water and waste. We have put a Green Team together to help implement our plans and achieve our goal.
