Folens Overseas Teaching Fund Winners
Thank you to everyone who entered the Folens Overseas Teaching Fund competition.
It received a fantastic response and reflected just how much good work is being done by teachers in Ireland.
Elizabeth Treacy of Avondale Community College, Co Wicklow, travelled to Sierra Leone with Global Schoolroom as part of a pilot programme for inclusive education that promotes lifelong learning opportunities and gender equality.
Avril McClenehan of Francis Street CBS, Dublin, who will work to improve education, provide training and stimulate creative ideas in the learning centre in Siem Reap, Cambodia with PEPY Empowering Youth.
David McEvoy of St. Attracta's Community School, Sligo, travelled to Cape Town with Mellon Educate to share his experience and mentor on-going good practice with his partnered teacher.
Jack Neylon of Colaiste Muire, Co Clare, travelled to Kolkata, India, where he worked as a support volunteer on The Hope Foundation's education and training projects.
Fiona Santry of Scoil Iósaf, Castlemartyr, went to Uganda with Nurture Africa where she taught and hosted interactive methodology-sharing workshops with Ugandan teachers.
